An Attitude Of Gratitude
There are times when I can’t be bothered exercising when I know I should because it’s good for me and my body, mind and spirit need it. Sometimes I think I am just outright lazy!
Now and then I come across inspirational people who make me appreciate what I have. I was at a Rest Home recently and spent two days with the residents there. Some were in wheelchairs, some were bedridden and many were still very capable of walking around comfortably. I overheard this one particular woman who looked about 90 years old say “I wish I could walk again, I would give anything to be able to walk again…”
And here I was at 35 years old, sitting on my butt and now feeling VERY guilty because I hadn’t been doing my regular exercise and a 90 year old woman was talking about how she SO desired to do that! I went walking every day after that because I realised that I have everything I need, I am young and healthy and yet I was taking this all for granted.
I found this video on YouTube today and it also inspired me to take action, to go for that walk, to finish whatever it is that I start, to get up when I fall down and to keep trying until I reach my goal. It inspired me to action and instilled in me an attitude of gratitude. I hope it inspires you too. Enjoy.
