Find Excuses To Walk In The Rain With A Little Lady
I had an appointment today at the acupuncturist and as it turned out, I decided to walk there. Now I could have come up with all the excuses in the world; it’s cold, it’s raining – well actually it was pouring! The wind is blowing and it might blow me over (haha!), I don’t feel like it, it’s a long way – all these excuses but no, I decided that I would walk.
It made me think about my life and the decision that I have made to do what I love for a living. It’s wonderful being able to have that choice of when I get up in the morning and what I can do in a day but this doesn’t mean that I can say, “Oh I don’t feel like it today”.
I still need to be committed and focused to achieve my goals just as I would do if I was working for somebody else, in fact, I have to be more committed to myself now than I ever was.
And I enjoyed every bit of it! There is something about walking that brings on new ideas, that taps into both sides of the brain and gets the blood pumping around your body! It took me 35 minutes, I got some exercise and I got to where I needed to go. It was my commitment to the task at hand. I needed to do that.
Often we make excuses for anything and everything but if we just made the commitment and the decision to do what we need to do, then we will get there!
And the best part about this morning and the walk other than getting some chi flowing through my body again was seeing a little old lady who looked about 90 years old walk past me in the pouring rain with a big smile on her face, no raincoat, or umbrella, just cruising and enjoying the rain. Just magic – now that’s living…

Inspirational Quote
Today’s quote comes from Wayne Dyer – a well know author and speaker whose book I read when I was 19 years old. The book is called “Your Erroneous Zones” and even though this has been around for a while, the messages are still inspirational.
There’s no scarcity of opportunity to make a living at what you love. There is only a scarcity of resolve to make it happen. Wayne Dyer
